CASE MANAGER

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) welcomes Katy Gerloff to its staff as the Case Manager for its newly devised COACH program. The COACH Program is a holistic approach to helping families and individuals recognize and address problems which bind them in a lifestyle of poverty. It is the first of several initiatives to be launched by ECCO to help lift people out of situational and generational poverty.

Gerloff is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She has had case management experience with refugee resettlement and developed and overseen Adult Basic Education Programs the Charlottesville, Virginia. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Gerloff is enjoying the challenges of getting acquainted to the East Cooper area. “I am very excited to join the staff of ECCO and work with the COACH program. I look forward to helping our clients by helping them address their situations with concrete plans to help them break through the barriers and obstacles that keep them entrenched in poverty. I am looking forward to becoming more immersed in the East Cooper Community through connecting with and providing relief to our clients.”

Jan England, Director of ECCO’s Client Services says, ““Katy brings an immense amount of experience to ECCO. She has a lot of insight in interviewing and accessing the needs people. She has already enrolled several clients in the COACH Program. The COACH Program is designed to help the recipients our Emergency Financial Assistance Program by developing individualized plans to address their situations. This is a significant expansion to ECCO”s client services. Katy will be a great addition to our team!”

ECCO is dedicated to helping the neighbors of East Cooper who live in situational and generational poverty. Services include emergency food, clothing, and financial assistance, free counseling, prescription assistance, medical and dental care to those who cannot afford them.
